Recycling Tips
We are sustainably conscious and environmentally responsible, that’s why in this section, we provide recycling tips and what items are recyclable. We not only conduct business locally, we live here. Which is why we’ve built our own recycling and recovery facility to help the cause of saving our land, rather than filling landfills. We started recycling even before it was a law, because it means that much to us.

Looking for something to do this weekend?
Why not plant a tree and support your local garden center. Whether in remembrance or in honor of someone you love, or simply to spruce up your yard, you can help save the environment at the same time. Over its’ lifetime, it will sequester over a ton of carbon dioxide!
A Fun Bee Fact.
If you want to find the sweetest watermelon of the bunch, look for the bee kisses – linle brown blemishes or scabs on the melon’s green rind. The more bee kisses, the more succulent a watermelon tastes. Just one more reason to help save the bees!
Holiday Recycling Challenge: How little waste can you create this holiday season?
Ideas to help: Buy items with little packaging; Go to your local thrift or antique store and recycle up; buy a fake tree or replant a tree if you use a real tree; use last years holiday cards as gift tags. What other ideas do you have that you can share with the community? Post your thoughts on our Facebook page HERE.
Gift Wrap & Gift Bags.
Look for recyclable gift wrap and bags when wrapping a gift. You can also reduce waste by using decorative boxes that don’t require wrapping that can be recyclable. A lot of gift wrap is not recyclable because of the coating on the paper, which is often shiny and laminated. Also consider using old newspapers, or reuse paper and bags rather than discarding after one use.
How do I dispose of packing material?
Styrofoam popcorn and pieces must be bagged and double tied to ensure they make it to the garbage facility. They are not recyclable. Full size pieces of paper and cardboard boxes, if not soiled, can be recycled. Boxes must be broken down.
Can I Recycle Shredded Paper?
NO. Shredded paper either ends up on the side of the road, gets caught in the recycling machinery or, if it gets wet, it turns into pulp. Rather, look for local shredding events to take your papers and have it safely shredded and recycled. Or if you have to throw it out, double bag it and put it in your regular trash.
Always Remember!
No food, liquids, straws, plastic cups and plastic dishware in the recycling bin. Compost all food and food-soiled paper when possible.
